We are very pleased to announce our first show of 2014 is with photographer Tom Martin at our new space at Collective/159 in Camden. Tom has worked closely with Test Space over the past four years, from our early days in Leeds to our work in London.
Tom has made a name for himself within the music industry working with a whole host of bands and record labels. Starting out working within the DIY and independent music scene in the north of England Tom has been regularly published as a core contributor to NME magazine for the past five years. Having travelled as far as Russia to document bands Tom has shot hundreds of gigs and festivals from Glastonbury to Download, worked as official photographer for the likes of Enter Shikari, The Courteeners and Basement Jaxx and been commissioned to shoot DVD covers for Elbow and The Cribs.
The exhibition also features shots of Metallica, Elbow, Basement Jaxx, New Order, Enter Shikari, the Prodigy and many more.
About the exhibition Tom said “It’s great to be doing my first exhibition in London, especially in Camden and at Collective/159; which is the perfect location for this show. Working with Test Space is always an exciting and unique experience.”
Tom will be showing a selection of work from commercial and personal projects as part of the exhibition. The subject matter of his images revolves heavily around contemporary music, festival and pop culture, with a uniquely stylized twist. In an age of lo-fi Instagram filmic filters his work is notable for it’s bright, colourful, bold and slightly surreal narratives heavily injected with the photographers personality, background and sense of humour.
All work is framed and priced at £100 available at C/159 in Camden or by contacting [email protected]
The exhibition is kindly supported by Camden Collective.
